30th April - Greg on TFI Friday tonight
Greg is appearing on Chris Evans' chat show tonight at 6pm on Channel 4 repeated at 11.40pm.
29th April - Greg backs Tim - its NIA again
Greg and Tim (in union again) persuaded the LTA to give Birmingham the next Davis Cup tie. They managed to persuade David Lloyd that outdoors on grass was not sensible - and the decision was made. Read more on the Davis Cup site.
21st April - Jiri shows Greg the Full Monte
As expected Greg lost his first match of the clay court season, to Jiri Novak at the Monte Carlo Country Club. Greg's deficiencies on this surface weren't helped by the conditions. Bad weather meant his match was both delayed and the court number changed. Heavy balls in the damp conditions also slowed the game up - to Novak's favour.
After the 6-2 6-2 defeat in 58 minutes Greg was positive, saying although he wasn't expected to win there was no harm in getting out there and giving it a go. Quote of the week though soon followed,
"I have more chance of seeing a UFO than I do of winning the French Open. I'm getting ready for grass."
7th April - Greg : "Blame me"
Ultimately for Greg this Davis Cup weekend was a letdown - but in reality although we couldn't claim victory, British Tennis won so much else. Greg though came out saying everyone in the country should blame him - when in reality all people could find for him (the team and the crowd) was PRAISE.
Greg lost both singles, but as everyone now knows only lost out by a fraction to Courier. He also played a large part in winning the doubles. As stated below see the Davis Cup Section for Results and News on a historic tie.
