What defined his game
Rusedski built his best tennis around a left-handed first serve, aggressive court positioning and a willingness to finish points at the net. The combination made him especially dangerous on quicker courts and helped him reach the top four in the world.
In 1998, his 149 mph serve at Indian Wells was recorded as the fastest serve in tennis at the time. He also won the Paris Masters that season, beating Pete Sampras in the final.
